Frank and Paul discuss Paul’s favorite Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney. They chat about his life before The Beatles, during and his post Beatles career to now and his influence on the music industry. 

Episode 11: Paul McCartney Part 1

Sir James Paul McCartney was born on June 18th, 1942 in Liverpool. He is a songwriter, musician who gained fame by playing bass for The Beatles during their ten year career.

On July 6th1957, Paul first met John Lennon when he was sixteen years old after he saw his band, The Quarrymen perform. He auditioned for John by performing the Eddie Cochran song “Twenty Flight Rock” and impressed Lennon with his playing prowess and thus began the formation of one of the most successful and well known song-writing duos of all time in The Beatles.

Paul also had continued success with his group, Paul McCartney and Wings, or simply known as Wings that was formed in 1971 after the break up of The Beatles.

Paul is still touring and making music today! He wrapped his Got Back tour last year and still continues to talk about his and The Beatles’s long lasting legacy. He and fellow former Beatle, Ringo Starr released The Beatles’s final song “Now and Then” on November 2nd, 2023.
