Episode 6: The White Album (1968) Part 1

Frank is joined by Dan and Rachel again as they discuss The Beatles’s ninth studio album, The White Album which also happens to be Frank and Dan’s favorite album as well.  Meanwhile, The Beatles' experiences in India are explored and George Harrison makes a return to the guitar after being away from it for two years with the sitar.

The Beatles or often referred to as the White Album is the ninth album from The Beatles. It was released on November 22nd, 1968. Lots of songs on this album were written during the band’s stay in India for a Transcendental Meditation course with the Maharishi.

It was a period of great productivity for the four, however it was also a period of growing tensions due to creative differences, John Lennon’s relationship with Yoko Ono and her constant presence which went against The Beatles’s policy of having wives and girlfriends in the studio whilst they were working and much more.

This album also had ties to Charles Manson because he misinterpreted a lot of the songs that were written on here. There will be more of that on part two of the White Album’s discussion.
